Lehigh Mountain Hawks – Hold your Heads High

Congratulations to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks for there trilling win over Duke in the NCAA Basketball Tournament.  It was a memory that I will never forget.   Combined with the run the Football Team made in the fall, and its a great time to be a Lehigh alumni and fan.

Too bad they couldn’t continue the magical run over Xavier.    They did become the 1st 15 seed to hold a half time lead.  And they were tied with 6 minutes left.  They should be extremely proud.

As an added bonus,  I got to spend time with some fellow classmates (as well as share many facebook posts and memories about the game), making it a special weekend that will not be forgotten

Baseball season is right around the corner.    Hopefully the NY Met’s can continue AverageAndy’s good luck in sports (NY Giants Super Bowl to go with Lehigh).

I want to throw out a big Thank You to family and friends who came to celebrated a milestone birthday over the weekend.  And an extra thanks to those who made the long trip from Pittsburgh.    You are all truly amazing.

Life is Good,

Keep on smiling.

Lehigh Mountain Hawks – 2012 Patriot League Champions

Congratulation to the Leigh Mountain Hawks for beating the Bucknell Bison in a thriller to win the 2012 Patriot League Championship and gaining an automatic bid in the NCAA Championship.

This is the 2nd time in 3 years the Brown and White will see their name on the big board.

Looking forward to filling out my bracket with the Engineers going all the way (hey, why not dream big).

Combined with the success of the 2011 Football Team (making it to the 3rd round of the NCAA Play-Offs) its been a fun ride for me as an alumni and a fan

Can’t really explain what I saw last night on Survivor.    Almost seems made up for the men’s team to voluntarily give up immunity.   If I was on the island, there is NO WAY I would have agreed to give the immunity idol away.    Seems now there are a lot of players who are simply looking for their 15 minutes of fun and sun (not even sure if they are looking for fame).   If they get voted off, oh well, I got a free vacation.   Its becoming sort of sad.

They need to find more players who really want to win (Average Andy comes to mind) .   As much as I disliked Russell Hantz in his later seasons (I actually liked him his 1st season), there is no way he would have agreed to give up that idol.   They would have had to pry the immunity idol from his dead hands.   Any Boston Rob would have looked at all those yahoos and simply laughed and walked away

It will be interesting to see where this goes.    My bet is that that dope Colton is gone in a few weeks (maybe even next week).

I really need to work on writing more.   I’m trying to find the time

Hope all is well out there

    Andy

looks like my torch has been snuffed

Sorry to say that Average Andy did not get selected for the next few rounds of Survivor.     Will have to submit another Video when they open up the auditions again.   Looks like the same for the Amazing Race.

Still enjoying both shows.  Loved watching the men blind side each other last night.    I still feel that I would have a great chance to win (or at least go far).     Seems to many people are too quick to join alliances, and don’t know when to let go.   I give props to the guy last  night who kind of switched his alliance when confronted with the choice.  Kept him alive a few more weeks

Lehigh took care of Colgate in the 1st round of the Patriot League Basketball Play-Offs last night.  Next is a showdown on Saturday against American University.     The winner moves on to the finals next Wednesday.   Lehigh has set team records for wins (24 and counting).   Seems sort of unfair that they probably will not even be considered for the NCAA tournament unless they win the League championship, while they will argue over the 8th or 9th place team in some of the so-called major conferences.    Time to give the little guys a shot.    I bet the (and fan interest) would be better for a Lehigh / Kentucky 1st round game than any game with some mediocre ACC or Big East team

Spring training is underway and Average Andy will soon be selecting his fantasy baseball teams for 2012.   Check back at the end of the month for my teams and analysis of how my drafts went

    Gotta run

    Keep on smiling

Much cooler being young when you actually needed to do something to get hurt

Quick shout out to the 2011 SB Champion NY Giants. Even got a chance to go to MetLife Stadium for the celebration

All and all, life is good

Super Bowl Weekend (Lets go Big Blue)

Love watching the Giants (and football in general) but really can’t stand all the other stuff (Pre Game / Post Game, Replays, ….)  I usually turn on the TV a few minutes before kick-off, watch the game,  then turn the TV off (or switch over to 60 Minutes) once the game ends.    After the Giants big win in San Francisco, I actually dreaded the fact that there would be 7/24 coverage of the Super Bowl for 2 straight weeks.   Other then Mike Francesca’s Super Bowl Trivia contest (and a few minutes with Even and Joe on the way to work after getting my car serviced), I listened (and watched)  very little about the Super Bowl.   And you know what.  It was a great 2 weeks.   I listened to music on my way to and form work.    I caught up on shows on my DVR.   It was great to simply tune all the repetitive non-stories out and simply enjoy other things.

Planning of having a fun day on Saturday (Going Laser Tagging), before starting to get really psyched up for the game on Sunday.   Will be going to a friend house with the same group of people who have watched every playoff game (this season and in 2008).    I am actually interested in watching Madonnas halftime show.

Hopefully Big Blue can win another Championship for NJ

Then it time to start talking baseball.    Excited about the Met’s this year.   It’s so much sweeter when nobody give you a chance.   I will go on record that the Met’s will win around 90 games this year, and possibly make the play-offs    Like that the they are bringing back Banner Day this year.    Loved watching it on Channel 9 between games of a double-header.

Still waiting to hear about Survivor / The Amazing Race.   Never going to stop believing that some day AverageAndy will be a contestant and take home the prize.  Both shows are starting up again in a few weeks, looking forward to that.

    Will write again soon

Keep on Smiling and think your happies

    Have a good weekend

Hope everybody has a great weekend. Looking forward to the big Giants game on Sunday

Have my cardio / kickboxing class on Saturday, and will try to get in a run on Sunday

The cast for the next season of Survivor has been released. Used to look things over to try and get an early feel. No I don’t really bother and just wait for the show to air. Same with the Amazing Race.

Only 1 more episode of CSI with Marg H. Looking forward to see how she leaves. This season has been awesome (with Ted Danson).

    Stay Gold

    Its a Good Day

Getting ready for another day at work while listening to the new Bruce Springsteen song. Props to both WHDA and WXRQ for playing the song in NJ / NY this morning. Enjoying new Bruce, Van Halen, and Paul McCartney music

Enjoyed the new season of American Idol which started last night. Still entertaining as it starts its 11th season. As the Star Ledger said “American Idol is the Oscars for Reality Shows”

More later on the Big Giants game this weekend. Looking forward to another great day with friends as we cheer on Big Blue

    Keep smiling
