Super Bowl Weekend (Lets go Big Blue)

Posted on February 3, 2012 by AverageAndy

Love watching the Giants (and football in general) but really can’t stand all the other stuff (Pre Game / Post Game, Replays, ….)  I usually turn on the TV a few minutes before kick-off, watch the game,  then turn the TV off (or switch over to 60 Minutes) once the game ends.    After the Giants big win in San Francisco, I actually dreaded the fact that there would be 7/24 coverage of the Super Bowl for 2 straight weeks.   Other then Mike Francesca’s Super Bowl Trivia contest (and a few minutes with Even and Joe on the way to work after getting my car serviced), I listened (and watched)  very little about the Super Bowl.   And you know what.  It was a great 2 weeks.   I listened to music on my way to and form work.    I caught up on shows on my DVR.   It was great to simply tune all the repetitive non-stories out and simply enjoy other things.

Planning of having a fun day on Saturday (Going Laser Tagging), before starting to get really psyched up for the game on Sunday.   Will be going to a friend house with the same group of people who have watched every playoff game (this season and in 2008).    I am actually interested in watching Madonnas halftime show.

Hopefully Big Blue can win another Championship for NJ

Then it time to start talking baseball.    Excited about the Met’s this year.   It’s so much sweeter when nobody give you a chance.   I will go on record that the Met’s will win around 90 games this year, and possibly make the play-offs    Like that the they are bringing back Banner Day this year.    Loved watching it on Channel 9 between games of a double-header.

Still waiting to hear about Survivor / The Amazing Race.   Never going to stop believing that some day AverageAndy will be a contestant and take home the prize.  Both shows are starting up again in a few weeks, looking forward to that.

Will write again soon

Keep on Smiling and think your happies

Have a good weekend

Posted on January 20, 2012 by AverageAndy

Hope everybody has a great weekend. Looking forward to the big Giants game on Sunday

Have my cardio / kickboxing class on Saturday, and will try to get in a run on Sunday

The cast for the next season of Survivor has been released. Used to look things over to try and get an early feel. No I don’t really bother and just wait for the show to air. Same with the Amazing Race.

Only 1 more episode of CSI with Marg H. Looking forward to see how she leaves. This season has been awesome (with Ted Danson).

Stay Gold

Its a Good Day

Posted on January 19, 2012 by AverageAndy

Getting ready for another day at work while listening to the new Bruce Springsteen song. Props to both WHDA and WXRQ for playing the song in NJ / NY this morning. Enjoying new Bruce, Van Halen, and Paul McCartney music

Enjoyed the new season of American Idol which started last night. Still entertaining as it starts its 11th season. As the Star Ledger said “American Idol is the Oscars for Reality Shows”

More later on the Big Giants game this weekend. Looking forward to another great day with friends as we cheer on Big Blue

Welcome to 2012 (A week or so to late)

Posted on January 11, 2012 by AverageAndy

Hi everybody, and welcome to AverageAndy’s first new post of 2012

Sorry I havent written lately.   hopefully I will be able to update this more frequently

Fired up for the Giants / Packers game this Sunday.     I really enjoy the NFL Play-Offs as I usually get together each weekend with friends to watch the games.    With the Giants playing, it’s just that much more fun.    I give them a good chance this weekend

Also fired up for Seton Hall Basketball.    The Pirates are back in the top 25 after an 11 year absence.     Seton Hall being rated brings back great memories of when they were a solid and respectable squad in the 1990s  (and of corse the thrilling run to the Finals in 1989).

The Lehigh Engineers lost there 1st league game, but evened their conference record tonight with a solid win over American.  Looking forward to a solid season and then a Patriot League Championship

As far a Survivor / Amazing Race, all applications have been submitted, so now its just a waiting game.

Does get me a little frustrated when I follow all the rules, and submit my applications on time, only to have the deadline extended because people wait until the last-minute, and then have issues and complain the system is too busy.    It should be tough luck for them.

I also get frustrated when people don’t answer / respond to Face Book Events.  If you can’t make it, simply check no.  No hard feelings.    Would you not RSVP to a formal invite?  And if you want to wait to the last-minute to see who else is coming, well then you really don’t want to come, so again just click no.

Listening to the new Van Halen song (Tattoe) on Spottify.    I really like it.  Good to see them making a sore of comeback.  Maybe this will change the current landscape of music.   While not as bad as the 1990s when bands like Nickelback put out song after sound that was not good, and sounded all the same, the current music style needs a little pick me up.  Time to bring back Rock

Was listening to 105.5 WDHA on the way to work today, and they were talking about how bad some of these so-called reality shows (The Batchelor, Mob Wars, Housewives of …) are.   Then they started talking about classics like The Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman and Charlies Angles.    It is really sad where we have come in the past 30 years.

Well that’s enough rambling for tonight.  Hope everybody out there is doing well, and wish you all the best

PS – Got a new Kindle Fire, and just installed the WordPress App.    I will be checking it out, so hopefully this will allow me to post more frequently

Still without power

Posted on November 1, 2011 by AverageAndy

Still without power due to the snow storm on Saturday. Lots of trees down including large branches that took out part of my deck and crushed our swing set like Godzillia stomping on a house.

Looks like no Survivor tomorrow night. Thank God for Comcast and On Demand. Should be able to catch up once the power is back

Have a great weekend

Posted on October 21, 2011 by AverageAndy

Looking forward to another fun weekend.   I will be heading to the 55th Annual Philly Non-Sport Update show on Sunday.   Always a great time to see whats new and exciting in Non Sports Trading Cards.   Will also be attending the Card Talk Breakfast on Sunday.

With both the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (6 -1, 2-0) and the NY Football Giants (4 -2) on byes this week, I feel like it’s the first truly free weekend I have had is a while.    Should be able to get a lot done around the house and the yard.  Hopefully the weather is as nice as the past few weekends.

I have to say that Wednesdays episode of CSI was one of the best in a long time.    Ted Danson is a great addition to the cast.

Another great week of Survivor and The Amazing Race.    Still waiting to hear back from Survivor on my application (Again if anybody out in cyber world has any type of connections to Survivor, Jeff Probst, or Lynne Spillman, be sure to mention AverageAndy).  Together we can make my dream of being on the show come true.

Have a great weekend, and remember to “Think your Happy’s”
