And still another has left us. Sir Patrick Stewart passed away on October 28th, 2026. A Shakespearean actor, he was best known for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, a role he reprised in a series of four feature films (1994–2002) and the TV series Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023). Also in film, Stewart gained further stardom portraying Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men film series (2000–2017), reprising the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (2022–2026), with Avengers: Doomsday being his final film performance. He was the main focus in several critically acclaimed ST: TNG episodes, including Season 5, Episode 25, “The Inner Light“, one of my favorites, and widely considered one of the best episodes in the entire Star Trek universe. RIP Sir Patrick Stewart, you will be missed.

As time goes on, more and more of the actors and actresses that I watched growing up in the 70s. 80s, and 90s are getting older and starting to pass away more frequently. It really makes you realize that time stops for no one.
Staying on this train of thought, a quick shout-out to the NY Mets pitcher Jerry Koosman, who passed away yesterday at the age of 83. As one of the Miracle Mets, he helped the Mets win the 1969 World Series over the favorite Baltimore Orioles. The Mets retired Koosman’s number 36 on August 28, 2021, making him the third Mets player at the time (after Tom Seaver and Mike Piazza) to have his number retired. Jerry also played for the Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies between 1967 and 1985. RIP Jerry Koosman, you will be missed.

On a more celebratory note, congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers, who defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4 games to 1 to win the franchise’s first-ever World Series Championship. After having a great year, they were a fitting champion.

The NY Football Giants had their bye week and are back in action next Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. A win against the Eagles would go a long way towards winning there 1st NFC East Title since 2011.
The Lehigh Mountain Hawks escaped with a 31-30 victory over a bad Bucknell squad. After Lehigh took the lead late, Bucknell scored with 4 seconds left in the game and decided to go for the point conversion for the win. The Lehigh defense came up with a big stop to preserve the victory. A win is a win, and Lehigh will try to win their final home game against Colgate and keep their Patriot League Championship hopes alive.
In another example of time flying by, both the Lehigh Mountain Hawks and the Seton Hall Pirates open the 2026-2027 College Basketball Season tonight. The defending Patriot League Champions open at St. Louse, while the Pirates play at home (Prudential Center) against St. Peter’s.
As far as Survivor (I’m still behind with The Amazing Race, and will try to catch up soon), last week’s eviction of Ovi showed that some alliances are too strong to break. Looking back, Ori’s best move would have been to try and keep Alexis in the previous vote. She seemed more loyal to him than either Jelly or Devin. Not sure, but it seems the best strategy is to find somebody very loyal and stick with them until the merge, regardless of hurt feelings. I know things were also a circumstance of coming in last at the immunity challenge and being forced to go to tribal council as a 3-player tribe. Wonder if there were any thoughts by any of the other tribe members to possibly throw the challenge. Knowing that one of the 3 would be going home, what if you wanted to work with the 3 of them and had somebody on your tribe you wanted to get rid of? Another reason why I would love to be a future contestant. Want to see how I would handle things out of my comfort zone and see how I would act/react in all the different situations thrown at me.
As far as Kristen, with Ori voted off, her move would be to vote out Sharonda as quick as possible. She’s considered a Super Fan of the show, so let’s see how this plays out
As a side note, when filling out the online application form at www.cbssurvivorcasting.com/home (I just filled mine out again and submitted a new video last Friday), the drop-down options for show familiarity are “Have never seen Show”, Have seen a few seasons”, “Have seen episodes here and there”, and “Super Fan”

I feel the term “Super Fan” needs to be re-evaluated. There are plenty of fans like myself who have enjoyed watching the show for a long time (I go back to Season 1), but are not super hardcore “Super Fans”. I know a lot (I would say a lot more than most), but can’t tell you every player on every tribe, and the results of every vote. I don’t study and attempt every challenge in my backyard. I don’t 3D print out every puzzle. I just like to watch each week and be surprised and entertained. I admit I do think about Survivor and being a contestant way more than the average fan, but I can also look at things from a distance and appreciate the nuances of the game
Since I am not currently working in an office setting, I was glad not to be mad about all the clocks and microwaves being off by an hour due to Daylight Saving Time this weekend. I would always spend Monday morning walking around resetting the wall clocks and microwaves to the correct time.
One thing that does annoy me is why the clocks in cars have to be manually switched every time we change the clocks back or forward. Even though they have made things easier by having separate up/down buttons for the hours and minutes, it still seems the clocks should just change themselves like cell phones and computers.
Here are a few songs Starbucks is playing to make your Monday a happy day
Watermelon Sugar – Harry Styles
Party In the U.S.A – Miley Cyrus
Believe in Love – Cher
I volunteered to be a poll worker for tomorrow’s midterm elections. Need to be there at 5:15 to get things set up for the polls to open at 6:00 AM. Hope everybody has the ability and time to go to the polls and cast your vote. No matter what side you’re on, or who you’re voting for (or against), exercise your right and get out and vote
I have some more thoughts and things to write about, so I will be back on Wednesday with some more things for all of you to enjoy
Enjoy your day
